What is the difference between "Filled" and "Unfilled" travertine?

"Filled" travertine has its natural pores plugged with resin for a smooth surface. "Unfilled" travertine (like this collection) keeps those pores open for a more textured, organic, and rustic appearance.  

How do I grout "Unfilled" chiseled stone?

You have two options:

1. Full Surface Grout: Spread grout over the entire tile, allowing it to fill the natural holes for a more solid, easier-to-clean surface.

2. Joint-Only Grouting: Carefully fill only the spaces between the stones to keep the deep, porous texture of the stone face visible.

Is this stone suitable for a salt-water pool deck?

Yes. Silver Travertine is highly durable. However, we recommend using a high-quality salt-repellent sealer to protect the stone’s integrity and color from the salt-water environment.  

Will an enhancing sealer change the color?

Yes. If you use an Enhancing Sealer, the greys and silvers will become deeper and more vibrant (similar to how the stone looks when wet). If you prefer the light, chalky ash tones, use a Standard Penetrating Sealer.

Does the Versailles pattern repeat?

The pattern is a modular loop. While it repeats every 16 square feet, the random placement of the four sizes creates the illusion of a completely custom, non-repeating stone floor.
